About this case
Fien came to us, referred by the orthodontist. She had an open bite and spoke unclearly due to the open bite. The orthodontist aligned the arches with respect for the open bite. Closing the open bite would have placed the front teeth backwards and more in a straight direction. Therefore we judged that a bi-maxillary surgery was necessary. For the deep labiomental fold we choose to tunnel the region and fill up with artificial bone (HA) and a protecting resorebabel membrane (membrane resorbs over 5months). The surgery went uneventfully well. Fien as well as her parents were most delighted with the outcome.
