About this case

Suka is in his twenties. He felt  his face was too narrow, and the chin in retrusion. His bite on the other hand was fine and in a normal fitting dental Class I. He did quite a lot of research on the web. He preferred the PEEK implants over silicone implants, and finally we worked out the wrap-around for him. His facial fotoos  on the right  are as  he presented for 4 months after surgery. Even 4 month postoperatively the healing is not complete. There is still considerable residual lymph-oedema & oedema present around the mandibular border, making the shapes less defined. This oedema will gradually resorb over time. The incision for a wrap is a considerable long incision when done with PEEK. This comes, although it is a patient specific implant (PSI), it is a  hard plastic -like material, and needs complete opening access to be seated. Since the incision is long,  the oedema simply needs further time to disappear. We proposed Suka two high cheekbone peeks as well to be placed at the same time as the wrap. The design for the cones was ready, but Suka preferred to wait and see first the result of the wrap. In the near future the cones will now be placed to create more fullness -augmentation as well infraorbital as on the high cheek bone area’s.
